Required investment amount: €2.65 million (minimum) qualifies for citizenship.  

Financial eligibility requirements include:

  1. Possession of a permanent privately-owned residence with a value of at least €500,000 in the Republic of Cyprus, which must be maintained for a lifetime, but can be rented;
  2. A donation of at least €75,000 to the Cyprus Land Development Corporation;
  3. A donation of at least €75,000 to the Research and Innovation Foundation; or
  4. Investments (of the applicant’s choice):
  • At least €2 million to purchase or build upon real estate; 
  • At least €2 million to establish or participate in Cypriot companies or businesses;
  • At least €2 million invested in alternative investment funds or the financial assets of a Cypriot company or organisation licensed by CySec; or
  • Any combination of the above.

Status: Citizenship. A Cypriot passport is issued within 6 months, with approval granted within just 2 to 3 months. The applicant does not become a tax resident in Cyprus unless he spends more than 183 days per calendar year.

Description: The Cyprus Investment Programme was designed for wealthy individuals willing to gain Cypriot citizenship in exchange for investment in real estate, land or business(es). 

Benefits: All rights conferred on a citizen of Cyprus, including the freedom to live, work, and study anywhere in the EU, and visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to more than 170 countries and territories. Dual citizenship is permitted. 

Time allowed outside the country: Unlimited.
