15 Best destinations for digital nomads

This year’s Savills ranking by is topped by Lisbon.
The Savills Executive Nomad Index features the best destinations around the world for long-term remote workers. All either offer a digital nomad visa, or equivalent, or like the U.S. and the EU, are part of a large economic bloc, which enables mobility and caters to a flexible lifestyle. They boast year-round balmy climates, a high quality of life, and have stable and secure upscale housing markets.
The modern executive nomads are distant relatives of freelance creatives who manage their projects remotely sitting with their laptops in beach cafés in Bali or Costa Rica. They have a villa in the Algarve or a condo in Miami. They conduct Zoom calls from spacious and cozy home offices, and then jump on a flight back to London, New York, or Geneva to speak at the quarterly board meeting.
Lisbon took the first place due to the high quality of life offered by Portugal. “Young professionals typically rent small city centre apartments,” says Ricardo Garcia, head of residential, Savills Portugal. Miami was the runner-up with its multiple advantages, including the vast availability of domestic and international flights, good digital infrastructure, a strong high-end rental market, and more.
